I served 2 years in the US Army and was discharged honorably. Before I joined I had 4g in my lobes and tounge. After alot of hard thinking I accepted my oblogation I made to keep myself and the USA safe and took out my rings when needed. It was difficult but i managed to walk away 2 years later and still fit 8g rings in there place. Tattoos are making a comeback in some branches like the Army. It's new policy allows ink on the sides and back of the neck as well as the hands. Piercings will mostly be a problem for saftey reasons although the women are allowed to wear one stud in each lobe. Alot can be learned by watching the military many things first happen in war. I see more acceptance now then in years past. Whats sad is that most civilian jobs are more strict than the military. If anyone is interested feel free to ask me anything regarding my expiriances with the US armed forces.

I remember a few years back some guy in the US military had split his tongue and when the government found out (be it his commanding officer or what have you) they made him have surgery to correct it… I'll see if I can find the link.

Edit: Found the link here it is.

My husband looked at re-upping a year ago and was told he'd have to have surgery on his ears to close the holes. Thank the Goddess he's thought about it and decided against re-upping. Though, we both agree it's about time that the Army started changing it's tat policies.

more and more military personell have come into our studio to get tattoos. my question is. if someone were to join the army or try to join with full sleves and the like would that be admitted? Also, is it legal for army or military personel to get tattooed on leave? and what would be the consequences?

pain is only temporary, the effect it has on the body lasts forever…

I know from what I've been told that SF guys are not allowed to have tattoos because they can have no distinguishing marks; though I do realize more and more military personal are getting tattoos. I'm not sure what the consequences would be, you could probably find the handbook online to see what the standards are as they very from enlisted to officier.
