All you need is an ordained minister. I was ordained online years ago by the United Life Church. So, I'd be happy to officiate your wedding!

if i believed in marriage i would totally want to be married by an ordained minister who also belongs to the cobm and invite everyone from the church and forums to party hardy somewhere in the forests of upstate new york… run rampant like nymphs and satyrs… probably sometime in september during the medieval festival in sterling forest… just to keep it civil…

i think flying your chosen minister out for a free 2 day vacay and a wedding is worth more then an extra 20 peeps at your wedding or however much that would cost…

Awen and I are also ordained. Perhaps we could start a listing via the front page of those who are legally ordained to perform weddings and also members of the CoBM? Just a thought.

Not sure if just being ordained matters. Notice the traditional phase in most weddings “by the power invested in me by the state of (fill in the blank)”. Most people who are ordained are also vested by the state to oversee wedding ceremonies.
It could be simpler to fill out and file your wedding certificate at your local courthouse and then hold a ceremony at your location. This would give you the freedom to have anyone perform the ceremony regardless if they are ordained or not.

I know that legally in most states the officiate cannot sign unless ordained and filed in that state. However, yes, one could just have a court wedding, but if that's not wha they want what I was suggesting was a list of ministers in each state thare of also CoBM members. Just an easy place to find us all.

well we ended up getting married in a court house, not our first choice but for now thats what we decided to do given the time frame we were given to get it done. But we have decided to have an awesome wedding on Halloween next year. I will be Frankenstein and she will be the bride of frankenstein. All the guests will be required to dress up. We just want to have fun with it since the stressfull part of the actual marriage is already done. But I agree that there should be a listing somewhere on the site of anyone who is able to preform weddings cause if would have meant alot to both me and my wife to have done it by a member of the church.

I wanna go! What a great idea for a wedding! I'd photograph it in a heartbeat for sure. Road trip to Cali next halloween? I'd love to. It's cold here on halloween, making for a frigid time (depending on the costumes).
Congrats London. Big hugs to you and your's.

I'd say that I'd want my marriage to be ordained by a minister of the CoBM. In fact I'd want my wedding to be a suspended wedding.
It would be a gay marriage too.
*Sigh*, As it appears at the present time eca is probably my future husband so I know for a fact he's down with my idea of a bitching wedding. So anyone reading this and might be interested in marrying us should keep their eyes peeled for when we decide to officially tye the knot.

Well, we're in Minnesota lol. Right now I'm helping a friend pass on the word to vote down Prop 08 in Cali. Apparently they are trying to vote to revoke the right for gay marriages. If they can keep it legal it will make it easier to petition the rest of the United States.
