It all makes sense, although the news was pretty grey area on explaining why the lightning was grounded by her nose stud… Good arguement against tongue rings attracting lightning though, because I've heard that alot at work from parents telling their kids “no” to getting them done.

Is it sick and wrong that I wonder what it would have been like to have had the lightning exit through my PA? I think I know the answer, because I HATED TENS unit play in the past. Not for me, thank you very much.

I want my outside to match my inside… on another note, let us mourn the two year old fish named Philip who has recently succeeded on one of his many attempts at suicide. He will be missed…

Did any of you see the Mythbusters episode where they tried this one? It took them using a doorknob in the nose to get electricity attracted. The outcome was that lightening is unpredictable and just having body jewelry doesn't mean it will hit you, or blow your nose ring out lol. It was a pretty good episode

I think it would be the same to be honest. Lightening is not a predictable element, so to say that just because one has a stretched septum, or other nasal piercings makes one more seceptable to a lightening strike does not seem scientifically grounded. : )

That is insane.
Great….more reason for me to be afraid of lightening. I know it's unlikely but it still scares the bejesus out of me.
And i have a 4g septum….nope I'm not leaving the house in storms anymore. Too scared.

Have you seen the movie Frankenstein that Kenneth Branaugh directed? I've always wanted to go out and see if that first scene with the electricity is possible. Lay on mats, hold hands, and connect electricity with my body. Perhaps I really am just too weird. : )
