In the sometimes hectic and fast paced world we live in, how do you unwind, de-stress, relax, center, etc?

It's great… I haven't done a whole lot as I'm teaching myself from information and videos I find online but eveything I've done has felt fantastic!

I enjoy doing Tai Chi, drinking tea and reading a good book. These always relax me. I may just have to look into yoga.

I teach taekwondo as a career so I have a bit of a natural stress reliever in my everyday life. It's pretty rare that I get stressed or that I even have a bad day.

I totally thought you were going to say that you run to relieve stress, but I understand not really getting stressed in the first place. Riding my bike relaxes me and I do it year round, even through the sucky Minnesota winters.

Haha. I do find running mentally relaxing but I don't use it as a stress reliever. I've always found the best method for dealing with stress is to deal with the stress directly. Here's a fictitious example: If I'm stressed about paying my mortgage I'm not going to go for a run- I'm going do what it takes to pay my mortgage.

I've done many things that destress me. For example, drawing, meditaion, martial arts, working out, and listening to classical music. One thing that in my experiance works well with most anybody is laughter. Find some way to laugh as many times a day as you can and smile. The more you smile the more the ones around you smile, and before you know it everyone in the room is a bit happier

I draw, a lot. I draw to relieve boredom, I draw to relieve stress, I draw because I have to, and I draw because my mate inspires me with very funny ideas. So likely, I will be nose to my sketchbook.
If I have to, I meditate.

my dogs destress me… when i come to the door and Mischa (the miniature pinscher from hell) is flinging herself at the door in hopes i will open it faster, and Cody (laid back lab/fatboy) wags his entire body (not just tail) all the b.s. from the day melts away… cooking with my daughter is also a great destresser… major MOMENTS in life are usually marked by a tattoo…

*grins* I have my puppy.. She's a wonderful stress reliever.. I walk her around the property, and watching her and playing with her.. is one of the best things in my life..
When my arm is repaired I'll go back to knitting, drawing, making chainmail and other stuff.. that and I write.. ALOT.. mostly just rambling, but sometimes just letting my fingers go and write whatever comes in my head.. can be a big help

Unwind? What's that? No, really, anyone who knows me knows that one thing comes to mind when I hear that question: BOOKS. I read VORACIOUSLY. I rarely read any less than four books at once: one novel, one book of short stories, one non-fiction work, and one “tub reading” book (something light that I'm not too worried about getting splashed). Currently, those books include VICIOUS CIRCLE by Mike Carey (novel), STRANGE THINGS by Kelly Link (short stories), DARK BANQUET (about blood-feeding animals, non-fiction), and BATTLE CIRCLE by Piers Anthony (tub reading). I also enjoy flying parafoil kites, hiking Mission Trails, geocaching, and swimming (my floundering whale impression).
