How do you “pull” on your flesh? Do you use hooks? You state you have a “blood fetish,” but I'm wondering if you are willing to elaborate a little. Do you feel liberated, enlightened, etc. when you see blood? Is it the sight of the blood, or the stress you put on your body that interests you?
Welcome to the CoBM. You came with your own voice. It isn't something we gave you!

I like to lick my wounds after doing scarification for the taste of blood. I think it also helps it to coagulate, but I am not sure… it feels good though.

i think everyone here has a thing for pain it is why we do it, to teach ourselves that pain is only temporary and allows us to better know our bodys limits phisicly, spiritually, and emotionaly.

Hi Shawna! I'm glad you found us!
Having a blood fetish is not so uncommon. The way I see it, the spectrum of modification has a place for everyone, whether they believe it or not. Spirituality in body art is definitely not limited to body piercing and tattooing, as long as it's done for the right reasons. Every individual will likely have different drives for what they do, but the important thing is that it's safe, sane and consentual.
Always take into consideration the repercussions of your actions before indulging yourself in blood play by yourself. If you are not trained to practice these kinds of things as an artform in a studio setting I urge you to at least research and inform yourself of the safest way to practice what you are doing. I'm not insinuating that you are not being safe, I'm just stressing that safety and education should always come before fetish and art.
I can't say that I have a sexual “fetish” for blood, but I do enjoy the actual ritual of all my modifications. As an artist I'm always watching out for everyone else's safety.

Blood, as a fluid, has a lot of power just based on it being the thing that makes us “go.” Without it, we falter and die. Therefore, seeing it, touching it, playing with it, etc. puts us directly in touch with the power that makes us alive. Bringing it to the surface empowers us and gives us a little control over that force. Safe and sane blood play is a joy not many mundane folks understand, so revel in the fact that you've found folks who understand or will try to understand your fascination. I often wonder if a lot of my early cutting experiences weren't unconcious/unaware attempts at touching a higher power…

I just wrote an article not too long ago through my Myspace account talking about Sanguinarians. I'm a fan of Konstantinos's work and feel that he definately is an advocate of safe and sane. I think there is a tremendous amount of power in blood rituals and have used them throughout the years in various times of need. I'm not sure of your religious background, but I see nothing wrong so long as it is kept within means.
I know that in some rituals blood or seman is baked into ritual cakes to be eaten after the ritual is over or as a part of the communion. I can't say I've actually done this particular, but I have taken blood straight from the cut before. The first time was overwhelming because of the immense connection involved in it.
I do recommend blood tests if you're going to do blood letting/doaning with another person. It's not hard to get tests, and it keeps everyone safe and happy.
