Church of Body Modification - Terms of Service

Overview

The Church of Body Modification encourages its members to maintain a civil, respectful atmosphere. This includes community pages, forums, blogs, comments in blog posts, and private messages sent via the CoBM site. Posts made by members should make every attempt to encourage safe, responsible behavior. Disagreements in procedure and theory are encouraged; however, please, discuss in an intelligent manner, without flamming, name calling, and pointing fingers.

Administrative responses to infractions will be proportionate to the infractions themselves. Flamming, profanity, dangerous or illegal recommendations, or other posts that pose an immediate threat may be deleted without warning. Posts made in the wrong forum or posted off topic may be deleted or moved, depending on the nature of the post. Moderators are encouraged to leave posts "as is" wherever possible. Only dangerous or disruptive posts will be acted upon immediately. The author may be notified regarding why the post was deleted or moved, in order to discourage the event from reoccurring.

Accounts and posts may be deleted without warning or notice.

Who To Contact

To report a Terms of Service violation, please send an email to admin@uscobm.com.

Your comfort within the community is important to the administration of the Church. If you are having a personal conflict with another member of the Church and need assistance with a resolution, please do not hesitate to contact the President, a Board Member, a Minister, or a Moderator.

If your account or posts have been deleted and you would like additional information, you are encouraged to contact the President at admin@uscobm.com. The administration is more than happy to correspond with members regarding violations. Please note that this is a courtesy to encourage personal growth, and it is not required by any State, Federal, or International statute. Arguing about one's dismissal will not be tolerated.

Rules and Guidelines
  • Treat each other with mutual respect. This includes respecting the opinions and experiences of other members and non-members. Disrespectful and condescending behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Recognize that your way is not the only way. The Church of Body Modification has two main components, spirituality and body modification. There are numerous ways to achieve any goal in both spirituality and body modification. Discussion of differences in procedure is highly encouraged. Disagree in an educational, informational manner, siting sources, if available.
  • Do not post inappropriate or hostile messages. Posts made with the intention of starting a fight will be deleted immediately, and the author may or may not be removed at the discretion of the President.
  • Be tolerant of the life choices of others when posting. Hatespeech, including negative comments regarding race, gender, and religion, will not be tolerated. This includes slang terms.
  • Do not post disruptive code. If you inadvertently posted something that may have affected the functionality of the site, please notify admin immediately. Strict records are kept, and the author will be identified. Be part of the solution BEFORE you are approached about your actions.
  • Do not use the site as your personal platform to complain about the CoBM. The CoBM's forums and personal pages are designed with unity in mind. If you have suggestions on the running of the Church, you are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to send an email to the President. You may also make suggestions in forums clearly labeled for Church development. There is a vast difference between helping the Church grow and just complaining. If you don't like the Church, why stay?
Forum and Community Logistical Guildelines
  • You must be over the age of 13 years to be a CoBM member, to participate in the CoBM's forums, and to participate in the online community.
  • Where possible, make sure your profile contains information about your background and experience with spirituality and body modification.
  • Do not cross-post. Duplicate threads may be deleted without notice.
  • Do not argue with Moderators or Administrators.
  • Do not use the Community site to host your images.
  • Each member is permitted one forum and/or one community account. Sharing of accounts is not allowed.
  • Do not use copyrighted images.
  • Do not post images that are not of you or that you do not have permission to use. If in doubt, don't use them!
  • Photography that might be construed by the general public as "sexually explicit" will not be tolerated. This includes photographs of modified genitals and breasts. Reports to the administration regarding such material will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. While we understand that our community sees the modification of ALL of our bodies as sacred, the nature of this Web community does not allow us to portray ALL manifestations of body art. This rule is in place to protect our minor members.
Additional Rules and Guidelines

You are responsible for the material you post on the CoBM site, both in terms of your reputation and legally. By becoming a Church member, you agreed that you read this Terms of Service. If the Terms of Service was not posted at the time you became a member, notifications were sent out at the time of its posting. If you do not intend to comply with these Terms of Service, please delete your account and send an email to admin@uscobm.com indicating you do not want to be a member any longer.

These rules and guidelines may be altered from time to time to address the needs of the community. As additions or changes are made, brief notations will be made below as to the general nature of the amendment.
