I prepare my whole body any time I'm going to do ritual. That usually entails a ritual shower with special soap, and sometimes by candlelight. I cut my toe nails and finger nails. I shave. Then when I'm done, I have lotion that I use all over my body. If I'm doing a home ritual, I smudge myself with sage.
As piercings heal, I repeat the ritual cleansing. I make the cleansing of it spiritual. I want the healing to be blessed on it's path.

I have a bath before most rituals and may well add essential oils as i see fit.
My preparation is mostly mental though, and i run through a series of excercise to focus my mind, prepare for the pain, and maybe focus on any other intent from the experience.
If there's a particular meaning to the ritual i will probably have meditated on it for a while beforehand, and will carry that with me. I may also add other aspects such as visiting places or 'spell' type rituals or ceremonies. Not that often though tbh.

I like to do things to get my circulation going before ritual/spiritual mod. Take a jog or light run to get the blood going, then when I get back take a shower as hot as I can stand it. I usually use camphor/menthol around my nose to open my airways for deep breathing. Then I like to slap my flesh in certain areas I may modify to get the blood circulating up. After I like to soak in cold water and slow my breathing and focus on the sensations.

I get in the shower and before turning it on I meditate a bit, then turn it on and like to sit in it and just let the water just wash over me. I recite something like 'i cleanse my body to cleanse my mind, i make this space into sacred space, and make my day/will/whatever divine'. The act of getting naked and being washed away with water puts me in a very meditative state.
