I'm new here so, I'd like to introduce myself. Hello, I'm Rachel. I've been doing body mods since I was 14, I'm 19 now. And. I have to say that I'm glad I've found a place where others understand why one would modify themselves. Anyway, on to the topic.

I've been bloodletting for a few months, 3-4 times a week. I see blood as a channel for energy and by draining bits at a time will release any bad energy in the body. I'd say it's comparable to cutting.

I'm terrible at writing so, I'm going to cut to the chase. Does anybody view bloodletting the way I do? If not, what are your opinions? I'd really like to hear what you have to say.

By the way, my apologies if I sound like an idiot. As I said before, writing and words aren't my strong point. Please don't be harsh if this post is nonsensical.

I agree fully with the release of negative energy going through the blood. I actually kkept cutting when I was younger because of the research I had done on the Native Americans releasing evil spirits through bloodletting. Id love to get with you on how you do it through needles if you're alright with that. I've been resisting razor blades because of work. If its private feel free to email me.

By needles I meant syringes. Sorry for any confusion there. I treat it kind of like a blood draw, phlebotomy type stuff. If you're interested in trying that you can either try a feed store or check around online for butterfly needles.

Fairly priced needles.

That's kind of ironic I'm a phlebotomy major. <3

I haven't drawn blood in a while, maybe about 2 years because of my job. Ironically, I have Trypanophobia – fear of medical procedures involving needles or injections. Mainly it's the syringe that really gets me, no idea why. The key word being medical, because modifications of any kind don't bother me a single bit. In fact, I enjoy them (obviously). Anyway, So I did use a blade. I did it more or so 5 times a week. It was a huge release for me, I miss it a lot.

I use a carpet razor when I cut – my wife does not understand, although, to give her, her due she does try. The problem is I am a public schoool teacher and have to lie whenever anyone sees my wounds (for some reason, I love to lightly cut my wrists).

In the occasions in which I have cut, I focused on my legs.  While the psychology of doing so might not resonate quite as strongly as doing so on the wrists, it has the dual advantages of both being easier to keep hidden and easier to control the cut so as to not accidentally cause any real significant damage.

i find that the use of hypodermic needles is not only easier but also alot more easy to hide the marks ive cut on my legs in the past for the fact it is easy to hide but needles are generally more sanitary and also you have less of a risk for cutting to deep and leaving scars

Yes, certainly have.  Play piercing needles are relatively inexpensive, come in a variety of different sizes and are all pre-steralized and the ones I get come in little hard plastic tubes for easy and safe disposal.  I'd actually really like to do some artistic play piercing at some point, though that requires an artistic  and trusted partner who doesn't mind sticking me full of needles.

I enjoy both play piercing and bloodletting. Playpiercingkits.com is a really good site to get needles and blades. I'm a registered Nurse and deal with needles and blood in one regard or another on a regular basis. I'm very fond of "zippering" the needles, not only is it very pretty but it yields a good amount of blood when the tab is pulled. The sensation and the sound is very rewarding.

this reminds me of myself so much a few years ago.

i quit though because i realized i used it as a crutch.

i don't want a crutch to make me closer to me or the world.

i wanted to be able to find myself by myself looking for me.

does that make sense?

i used my upper arms cause i thought that was the least anyone would ever see of me.

they're scarred pretty bad. i scar way too easily.

i believe iggy asked for a picture when i used to be into it. it might still be on his first phone.

I truley enjoy play piercing in an intimte setting with an intimate partner. I do use all the sterility that i would for a permanent piercing, evn though i am in a monoganous relationship. I also instruct and assist my partner in doing it to me, in addition to performing it on her. I have found it be a truey sexual spirtitual form of expression. I don't do it indipendantly though. i feel that there is a sence of connection with the other, it builds trust for me. Many tantirc scriptures also describe the use of piercing as a form of forplay so to speak. Since my partner and i have begun doing this, it seems we are also both more in sink with our orgasms. It has helped us bith to percieve our own limits, and well as interpret each others. I do practice quite a few sado/masocist kink activities with her. we've been able to do away the safe word theory just based on how well we know ech sighns at this point. it is truely like a facet into sexual glaconda.

I've never really given it a whole lot of thought more then helping your body cleanse itself.

Blood is a channel for bad energy and bloodletting is a good way to keep it out of your body.

However.

I had to quit because I never had a way to do it safely.

So, I have a question now!

What are some good, safe, sane ways of bloodletting without hurting yourself to an unsafe point?
