Seeing that this is the Church of Body Modification, I'm assuming most of us have planned work in the future, whether it be tattoo, piercing, or other.

My next piece is going to be a spiritual piece, one I designed to cover my chest and trail along most of my body. It consists of two thick lines going down the center of my body, parallel with one another, starting at my lip (I'm going to save the facial work for a later date) and circles representing the chakras of my body. You can see the design I created below.

I don't want it to stop where it does at the bottom of the photo, I want the two lines to split and then travel individually down my legs to my feet, where I believe I'll have three lines coming off of each side to go around my ankles. The three lines will represent the church. I also plan to add to it as I go.

What are you getting next?

although my next mod is not as spiritually inspired. i am going in for my first session on my sleeve project on the 17th. the tattoo is going to be a coral reef inspired piece. i find marine life to be beautiful and inspiring. i am very much excited in my plans for a suspension this summer. i have wanted to do a suspension for a very long time now and now i feel i'm finally ready.

My next planned mod is my half-sleeve, which is all piercing/modification themed, in a torture chamber design… chains appearing to rip out of my flesh, holding suspension hooks from which a pair of hemostats are hanging… the hemos are holding a gauge wheel, which has needles, tapers, scalpels, recieving tubes… etc, coming out from behind it like a sunburst… and that's just the beginning.

I'm psyched.

Both of those sound amazing. I have a full sleeve currently, though it is unfinished. All of the linework is there, but the shading is not.

The reason why I haven't finished the sleeve is spiritual reasons. The sleeve was inspired by my sister and is devoted to her. It will never be finished, I suppose. My sister was taken from my family via murder and the sleeve is a graveyard with the biggest grave being hers, with many smaller ones I am currently working on filling. The only other one filled is another friend who died before his time, and I need to add another name as well. I think I'm going to have it shaded so it looks complete, yet incomplete. It's difficult to describe.

@JMcCauley, firstly – may I call you simply "J"? Secondly – Where are you doing the suspension?

@faithlessfate, that sleeve sounds, simply, amazing. I can't wait to see it. :]

I just got my wings done on my back, next would be a tail from my tailbone over my hip and down one leg. I was thinking on getting strike branding between my wings so they look like they got ripped off and tattooed back on. I have 3 scar lines (bars) on my left forearm that I have been doing abrasion on and light incisions with a razor… I may get it tatted in or maybe branded. ^_^

I never know what my next mod will be until fairly near the time i get it done.

I have a pretty long list of work i would like, and will eventually get, which has taken a lot of thought in almost all cases.

It just seems that one will come to me as the right one now almost at random. I often think that subconsciously i know the time is right, whereas when i plan and intellectualise this isn't always the case.

Having said that a pair of mandibles has just been added to the list, as it'll match the vertical lowbrets i got a couple of days ago!

@Oakbear: That sounds awesome, Oakbear. I understand completely how you feel about the spontaneity of things. By the way, is the tree in your avatar Druidic or Nordic? Just curious, as I've seen that particular tree pic as a symbol for both, though I'd have to go with that of the Druids, using your name as a reference.

I actually realized I'm having a different mod done very soon that I didn't mention. I'm dreadlocking my hair this coming Friday. I consider hair modification as a part of body modification, and even me dreading my hair has a spiritual/directive purpose.

I actually just recently got a new piece of work.  My current wife is my second marriage.  I decided before we got married that I only intened to do this one more time.  If I can not make this marriage work I will not be getting Legally hitched again.

So I disscussed the idea of having our rings permanently put on.  It was a bigger dission for her then it was for me but we both agreed that it was a good idea.  So last month we had cladha rings tattooed on.  I really like it and it has me considering more tattoos on the hands and probally the feet.

I've had similar thoughts about my future marriage. I've always wondered if an implant could be done on the finger to look like a ring.

With piercings, many are more spurr of the moment because I constantly do temporary piercings on myself. As of yet I have no plans for any perm piercings. I've been planning to try suspension ever since I first heard about it, but I need to find a place to do it first because it is illegal in Fl.

However, in terms of tattoos I have most of what I want planned out. My next project being a sleeve tatt of a weatherd down looking map of Cuba with the flag withing the shape of the island and a ribbon that is flowing around the island that says "For the Love of my Family" but in spanish (already have translation just don't know how mullti-lingual everyone else is).

Following that on the other arm will be a 4-leaf clover with a claddagh mounted on it. There will be a ribbon around that one that will say in Gaelic "The Pride of my Heritage".

Then above my heart I plan to have a bass and trebble clef intertwined with my mother's and sister's names within the clefs.

James – I had the Celtic tree of life in mind when i got that as my first tattoo, and it has a little ogham rune in the middle. Having said that my influences are quite eclectic, and i also both Celtic and Germanic ancestry. I'm planning a Yggdrasil backpiece and a valknut as it happens….

Dreadlocks are definately a mod, and one which takes a great deal of commitment and time.  I've not had them myself for practical reasons, but having helped my wife to get them am aware of how tough it is. Good luck!

I have  great respect for permenant wedding rings. The difficulty is of course that whilst your commitment may be absolute, you have to have trust that your partners is likewise. Life can change in many ways though, but kudos to anyone prepared to face this with an open heart and mind.

Can't help thinking of ways to do an implant now though!

Oakbear – That's awesome. I've been planning a Yggdrasil piece myself, though along the lines of heavy blackwork symbolism rather than detailed work. I am of scandinavian descent.

And for everyone else paying attention to this thread, I ended up doing my septum tonight with the assistance of my girlfriend.

Lol, heavy blackwork for mee too!

How did the septum come out? Must be tough to get straight on yourself!

Sorry for thread derailing! Anyone else know their next mod?

I think i may try a new tattoo studio in the morning to discuss some options….

The septum actually came out perfect! I'm now shopping for some larger gauge jewelry for that and the labret I'm going to do before Friday.

What size did you pierce at and do you have a goal size in mind?

The septum is at 14, as will be the labret. I'm looking at somewhere between 4 and 0 for septum and starting with 1/2 for labret. I'll go up from there as I see fit.

I just had my (ear cartilage) flats punched at a 2g yesterday. And three weeks ago, I had the lower hole on my lobe scalpeled together with the hole above it. What's next? Probably an inner conch piercing. Or dermal anchors behind my ears.
