Is there a labor union in the USA for body piercers and tattoo artists?

I am having difficulties at the shop I work in.

So are a number of tattoo artists.

We're looking into forming such a thing, but I figured if there was one already, you guys would know of it.

:D

A successful Organizing effort imposes a power deficit upon both sides of the issue, because Social Accountability processes have already broken down. Smaller groups are much easier to manage assertive communication, even where a power deficit exists. I don't know your situation, but if your shop is one with less than 50 employees, you may be barking up the wrong tree.

I'd start by googling 'Social Accountability' and 'SA8000', and educate yourself about workplace social accountability, and some of the usual social factors behind the power and prejudice of oppression in the workplace.

Feygon, thanks so much for the help. I lost this thread, due to my notifs being off, but that is extremely helpful.

I've since been let go from that shop, so it no longer matters there, but it's still something I really have hopes for one day.
