I’ve noticed that there aren’t many people logged in on the chatroom most of the time. I think we can avoid this by trying to have meetup times. How does 9:00 PM Central Time sound? Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, because people often have less to do those days of the week. We can talk about it, though.

That’s a great idea.

I’m unlikely to be around myself when others are due to my timezone, but it’s nice to have a time people will know there’s folks there.

Again, we can talk about it. What about UK times?

My schedule tends to be a bit all over the place, but I like the idea of scheduled chatroom meetup times.

I’m in.  I’ll get on the computer tomorrow night.  I won’t be as sharp as I am at that time in the AM, but I love to share.  However, I’m not sure I know what you mean by “logged in on the chat room.”  Where do I click?  Don’t you just PM me or something?  IDK.

I’m happy to do UK/ GMT friendly times as well… How about a Europe scheduled time? I’m not sure how much uptake we’d get tbh. My hours are pretty random, and we have fewer active people from this side of the Atlantic. Might be worth setting a time and seeing how it goes?

I won’t try to dictate European times. Tonight’s meetup was a literal fiasco, by the way. I went out of my way and changed schedule to be online. I showed up 15 minutes late, hoping no one would be too upset because I suggested it and all, but no one was on. I hope more word will catch on. A chance to meet up and talk would help the entire church as a whole feel stronger about their commitment to the church.

I agree that meeting up and talking, even online, is a good way to build a sense of community.

Unfortunately only a small proportion of the CoBM member use the forum, so getting news out isn’t always easy, as you have unfortunately found. I wonder if a weekly time is more realistic?

Also bear in mind it might take a while for it to catch on. If you’re in the chatroom, or have set a time, why not post it on the Facebook page? https://www.facebook.com/churchofbodmod

For anyone who doesn’t know how to access the chatroom, it’s under ‘chat’ in the top right of the CoBM pages, listed under ‘connect’. Here’s a link http://uscobm.com/chat/

I hope to catch some of you there somewhen!sf laugh Forum

I found it.  I went on last night and it was empty.  Sunday seems like a good idea.  I suggest an AM time and a PM time.  Maybe something like 9a and 9p or 8 and 8 or 10 and 10. The pm time just won’t work for anyone in Europe, but an am time might.  That may make it easier for people.  Also, the FB page announcement is a great idea because people get alerts that way.  Try again Amy_S.  Be a leader, you can do it!!

Posting it on the Facebook page seems like a great idea.  Just about every time I’ve had a good chat session its been because it had been posted on Facebook that there would be people in the chatroom.

I think a Member Chat is a great idea! I especially like the idea of having it at 9am and 9pm (or other time) on the same day, so people with various schedules and timezones can participate.

Yes, it’s probably good. But what timezone’s 9 PM and 9 AM?
