Hey, it's been a while guys, been mega stressed. So anyway There's a lot of stuff in the in the papers about the guy who stretched his cheeks and the negativity behind it all. It's seems pointless why it upsets other people it's not their body to complain. makes a little upset that people are still so massively closed minded. So what do you think on it?
I hadn't noticed that it hit the mainstream, but i love it. Very original and looks well done.

Many people react negatively to things outside their 'norm'. They see body modification as mutilation. Many mainstream folks tend to see modified folks as people who are hurting themselves for show and attention.
I don't like that the world is this way…
Someone in my workplace found that article and boy, did I hear the opinion of every single colleague (whether I wanted to or not…)
I just nod and look blank if someone near me starts discussing it or others like it. I don't interject ith things like "Doods, you do realise he wears solids for everyday use?" Or "How is it hurting you personally?" or even "Did you miss the part about him having paid employment?" when they start up about how he must be on welfare 'like all those people'
You can't fix stupid. Only educate it if the mind is willing.

I see no issue with it. Then again, I am a CoBM member so of course I have no issue with it. Haha
People don't like change. People don't like things that are different. It's all about being exposed to it and understanding it. But at the end of the day not everyone will understand. Which is why everyone is making such a big deal out of it. He isn't hurting anyone. That's the bottom line.
Only thing I would wonder is if he put a hollow plug in his cheeks if saliva would non stop come out of it? Or would his mouth dry out a little too much and lead to dental hygiene issues? Other than that, it's all good!

I have no problem with this at all. While it is not an aesthetic that I'm looking for personally, I think it looks great on him and he should (of course) be allowed to do as he pleases with his body. What many mainstream people don't even begin to understand is the idea of "ownership" of your own body and it scares them. Many mainstream people allow the media and mainstream culture control the way they see and change their own bodies and they unknowingly are giving ownership of their body to others' ideals and not thinking of their own. It is unfortunate and sad that these same people are also the ones that let legislation pass that takes more and more of our personal freedoms away due to their own fears and lack of self awareness.
Any modification tends to get stares and judgments from people that have no idea at all of Body Mods or the people they are judging. It's just human/herd mentality to judge/shun those that look or act different than the masses.
