Tongue split and suspension info please | General Discussion | Forum
I'm looking for any and all info I can get about artists in the mid-west that do the tongue splitting procedure and pricing. Also I would like to try my first suspension to see if it's for me. I need to find a reliable and safe studio that is willing to work with a first timer. Also I have no idea what the pricing for an average suspension would be, so any info would be more than I have now.

As far as suspension goes, you might find a group near you on suspension.org. There are many groups that are not on that list, of course. Pricing will vary. Some suspension groups only ask for the cost of their disposable equipment, some groups ask for a donations, some charge a set fee per hook. For example, SuspenDC charges $160 for a four-point suspension.
For tongue splitting, I think the best way to find a competent practitioner would be to ask around at your local shops. Once you find someone who does tongue splitting, I would ask to see a portfolio of their work. As Richard Ivey always says, a good portfolio should include several photos of healed work and should not only be of fresh work. I would also ask what their method of tongue splitting is as it can vary.
If you have any additional questions, this is a good place to ask as several members here have their tongue split. In fact, here's a forum post which covers an individual's experience and healing process.
