Not much to say except that today i celebrate 9 years as a professional piercer. I woke with the feeling of great energy today, and even gotten to do a few piercings, plus got new jewelry into the shop. Just all and all in a great mood cause i love what i do and this is a milestone in it for me. Figured if anyone would share in my joy, it would the people here.

Good stuff!

Anniversaries are a great way to review how far we've come. I bet things are a bit different now to when you started?!Cool

Oak bear they are very, when i started only the real "hard core" ones would get nose piercings, now nostril is like bread and butter to me, not to mention the techniques i've developed and the confidence i've built. I've constantly learning since the day i took on my apprenticeship, and i still am. This is a young and very progressive field with lots of room to grow and expend. I still love it just as much as the first day if not more, and still try to soak up as much as possible. thank you all for the well wishes.

Congrats!  What a beautiful thing to know you cherish your path so much that you would celebrate the day you started piercing!!  I also loved professionally piercing and did it for about a decade, but I wanted to make more money and I refused to compromise integrity for more cash in the piercing industry.  I bet you have felt some of the same ways I did.  I absolutely LOVED working at Piercing Experience in Atlanta, GA…. we used a statim, did all free hand technique, only started piercings with titanium.  Brian Skellie and I made a great team for several years offering nipple piercings at the same time for one person or 2.  I had the opportunity to facilitate ritual on a daily basis and I was GLOWING all the time!!  At my maximum wage I earned $400 per week plus tips.  We had a large client base of musicians (mostly rap) and television stars, so I made what I considered good money at the time mostly because of the good tips.  I had my own apartment and car and money to go out.  I just suddenly wanted more than $25,000 per year and I wasn't willing to put crap jewelry into people and I didn't really want to own a studio.  I am glad you have shared with me your joy and I praise you for your unwavering enthusiasm.  I understand some of the things you go through on a daily basis and I can tell you feel honored to do your job.  Thank you for being you.  Namaste.

Congratulations Jimmy.  If you weren't so damned far from me I'd get a few piercings from you myself.

I think, whenever possible, I'd like to stick to members of CoBM for my mods, or at least someone who sees a spiritual side to it, and will respect me desire to meditate during the mod.

Here's a toast I heard in a movie: May the best of your past be the worst of your future.

Sometimes I wonder if I can say anything in less than a hundred words.

Sommer yes i wish i could make more money doing this and do nothing else but pierce, but unfortunately i only make about 800 a month piercing. Same thing though won't compromise ethics for money, so alas i also work as chef and continue to pierce part time. I've said many a times i don't this for the money, i do it for the passion.

Oak if you ever come out and see me i'd be happy to pierce your whatever. thank all of you for the support. i look forward to another 9 plus years doing what i love.

Thanks very much. If i find myself in Minnesota, i shall head your way and get my whatever pierced!Laugh

Seriously, glad to hear you enthusiasm after such a long time. The industry can be tough, and few make good more from piercing any more.Confused It's nice to know people with can still make it!
