Member quote about faith | General Discussion | Forum

I was going through some old files and came across this great quote by CoBM member Sara Martin @ Sara Martin Studios. It speaks for itself and I wanted to share it:
"You never really learn about faith until you learn to have faith in yourself. Being modified is a constant reminder of the physical self and its connections to the metaphysical self, and being able to trust yourself enough to just let go and know that you're going to be okay, that the pain is only proof of your existence on a physical level, and that you exist much farther beyond that. It's a place for everyone, regardless of religion, to just practice faith."

I used this as a quote (crediting author) on my Facebook page. Not too many people understand my faith as a Buddhist nor my modifications. The Monastery I belong to accepts me regardless of my modifications, and for that I am appreciative. She is right, you must have faith in yourself first. When I learned to accept myself for who I am, I learned there is so much more to life. It is not about pleasing everyone, it is about staying true to yourself and respecting those who respect you.
