Hello folks!

In the past there have been a couple of group fasting rituals led by the CoBM, which people all over the world could join in and share the experience. It has been suggested we do something like that again.

Now it got me thinking, how can we share in a body modification based ritual together when we live so far apart and in different time zone?

I wondered about some modifications or rituals, and how they could be risky if people had medical problems or did not complete any procedure in a safe way.

So i’ve come to you guys for help.

What would you like?

How can we make sure people don’t get harmed?

How can we overcome distance and time difference?

Thanks in advance!

I know it’s only been a couple of days, but i wonder if this is something people might not feel they want, or maybe don’t know what to suggest?

How do people feel about the idea of a shared fast?

What about a ritual for all members?

I’m in Oakbear.  I’d like at least 3 people to do it, just to triangulate.  I’m into a 3 day fast.  How many days were you thinking?

Also, maybe some type of cleansing ritual for our jewelry?  A little moon shine, a little sun shine?  Even just putting it in the window?

I’m also very open minded about binding.

None of these ideas would require any extra equipment, just a little commitment.

Thanks Sommersett, that’s some cool ideas. A prepared wash for jewellery might be a nice idea, and the blessing in sun and moonlight would be nice.

I’m really trying to gauge interest, and maybe consider how body modification aspects can be incorporated safely.

I’m open to all ideas or thoughts!

I’m definitely up for a group fast but I think a three day fast might be a bit much for someone inexperienced in fasting. I’d love to hear some additional opinions.

Is fasting not eating at all,m or is it just not eating certain things, or is it both in a sense?

We are all born a blank canvas, physically and mentally, It is up to us to decorate our mind and body.

It may usually mean not eating at all for a period, but could also be restricting food for the period, limited or avoiding specific foods for example.

I haven’t done it in a while, but i find it’s a great way to focus the mind on something, every time you feel hungry or have to think about what you are eating can be a reminder of why you are fasting.

Many people start by doing a fluid only diet.  I don’t think the parameters need to be set in stone.  Maybe “fasting” can be something different for everyone and that would be part of the beauty of a shared experience.  Some of my friends just limit the foods they consume and the BRAT (bananas, apple sauce, rice and toast) is a gentle and simple one to follow.  The “Master Cleanse” also popular and there is plenty of good information on the internet about it.  I personally just do water and if I need it, I will drink juice.

I would like to do this before or after the week of August 13th because that is when school starts for my family.

Lets check on the planetary alignment… anybody know of anything interesting going on in space?
