20 days to my ear pointing... | Experiences | Forum

I'm 20 days out to having my ears pointed- the body modification that i have been so excited about getting for a few years now. A dream come true!
I am, however, really nervous about the procedure. I have an incredibly high pain tolerance, and I have always enjoyed the pains of being modified as it has been part of what helps me grow. But still, I am nervous! Does anyone have any tips or tricks that they use during procedures that help them get through?
Who is doing the procedure?
Pain is in the mind. It is simply your body giving you feedback, and importantly your reaction to it. A negative reaction, not liking it or feeling out of control can quickly escalate the pain and discomfort. You positive view of that sensation is probably a large part of your high tolerance.
Just remember to breathe and relax, and you'll be fine.
Most people i know who have undergone this report it being much less painful than they anticipated, so it might not be too bad!
