I ask because I'm making the trip I've been planning for several years. I'm going from New York to Arizona by foot and thumb. Hitchhiking. I was wondering if any of you live between here and there and would be kind enough to offer maybe a floor/couch to sleep on or even just a shower? If so, PM me – that'd be awesome.

I don't know what route you're planning on taking or when, but I'll be staying in Chicago from May until the end of August to be with my sister before she goes back to Palestine.  You're welcome to crash on our couch if need be  :)

I'm actually in AZ, so I don't think I could help you along your path, unless you're going to Phoenix or Prescott by way of Vegas.

I was curious though, why make the journey in such a fashion?  Is this a spiritual thing in some way?

Sometimes I wonder if I can say anything in less than a hundred words.

Well, yes, the reason was spiritual – but my mother decided to go over my head and buy me a train ticket from the city I live in to just outside of Flagstaff – and I'm not going to waste her money so I'm taking the train. So much for the "journey" aspect, but it should still be fun. The train will take 2 days – I plan on taking tons of pictures. I'll be posting again once I'm settled in out there. I'm actually moving there.

Oh, and I'm moving to Prescott Valley, AZ – in case any were wondering.

That's awesome James.  You'll be the first member of CoBM I know of who lives in AZ.  Flagstaff is about three hours drive from where I'm living now, and Prescott Valley is about an hour away.

I can't make any promises at this moment, but if you need a ride from point A to point B, I believe I could help you out with that, so long as you're not bringing anything more than would fit in a 4 door sedan.

If you need/want the ride, let me know when you'll be arriving and I'll see if I can get everything in order on my end to help you out.  There's probably no reason I couldn't, but things are so uncertain in my life right now that I'd hate to have you counting on me just yet.  However, if I do wind up telling you that you can count on it, then you certainly can count on it.

Sometimes I wonder if I can say anything in less than a hundred words.

I'm actually moving in with one of my two bestfriends that moved there to live with his father from where I used to live. He's going to be picking me up. I thank you for the offer. We'll have to get together sometime once I get a vehicle again so you don't have to do all the driving.
