Hi gang!

We're going to be running a few classes again in the not too distant future. There are some nice ideas for topics, but i thought i'd ask here what do people want?

What would you like to learn more about?

Any old class topics worth revisiting?

Is there anything in any of the Minister's bio's that intrigues you and you want to know more?

Thanks in advance for sharing ideas! :)

Maybe a class on quality jewelry for cheap prices?

Classes on proper piercing techniques?

maybe classes on the best jewelry types for initial piercings.

classes that also talk about which websites sell the better quality jewelry?

Don't know if you there have been classes on those yet, but I'm very interested in those topics. :)

I enjoy classes that are more on the metaphysical side of things. More of the why than the how. I also enjoy classes that answer questions but also, and maybe even more importantly, promote new thought. Just my two cents.

I also agree with Chris.  I'm more interested in classes more on the metaphysical side of things and on the whys of modification rather than the hows.  Even if I were interested in the hows, I don't believe classes are really the way to learn that effectively.

Yes to something metaphysical… the nature of being is intriguing and even undefinable.  Love that!!

Here is a list of things I would like to know more about… maybe other people would too.

*How modification of the ear correlates to acpuncture/pressure points.

*How materials of jewelry effect our being. (not about "safe materials" but more about other materials like stone, wood, horn, etc.)  Also include history of wear.

*History of the jewelry box.

I'm sure I will think of more, but that's all I have time for now.

I very much want to second the idea of how materials of jewellery effect our being.  I would absolutely love something to be done on that topic.

Possible ideas from me:

1. Scrying into a piercing, tattoo, or scar.

2. Self Harm versus Spiritual Practice.

3. Protective tattoos, protective piercings.

4. Properties of stones for plugs and other jewelry.

5. Spiritual meanings behind colors (for annodization or gem colors).

6. How to prepare spiritually for a modification in the days before.

7. Meaning and Application of the word "Discrimination".

8. What is spiritual body modification? An overview.

If I think of more, I'll come back!

Thanks for the suggestion folks, it's much appreciated.

I think it would be fun to debate something.  A good old fashion debate with sides delegated beforehand.  Wink

I think the forum is the best format for debates.  I think a class should be about learning something, not going round and round.

Sometimes I wonder if I can say anything in less than a hundred words.

I was really trying to propose a new method or style of class.  A few people, like SasQ for example, seem to enjoy the process of research and a debate is a excellent opportunity for that.  I don't think a topic with "correct or incorrect" answers would be good, but more of a quest for a specific part of a big topic would be interesting.  Fun and low pressure was my point.

I also think some type of experiments would be fun and interesting.

Now that you've put it that way, it doesn't sound bad.  Just need a topic.

Having experioenced a class now, i think this format is a good idea.

It's tough to convey much formal info and try and interact with a number of people at the same time. An open discussion sounds a great idea.

I would love a class on "Self Harm versus Spiritual Practice" as well!

The self harm vs practice one goes along with a documentary I'm apart of on self-harm. A few of us have done the self-harm to mods for therapy and I'm the only one to make the jump to spiritual practice. Seems the topic seems to up and hover around my nose every few months

I was curious if someone can tell me the date and next time of the sermon/class offered? Is this available in the chat?
