After my recent awesomeness with my company, I was thinking. The church should give commendations to companies and corporations that actively support modded folks.

There aren't many, but the ones who do would benefit from such a recognition, as it might push them to continue supporting us and not run the other way…

What do folks think?

Off the top of my head, this is an interesting idea. I see what you're getting at but I wonder if this is really the type of action for a church to take. If there were a group which was specifically set up to promote and support modified people, this would be right up their alley. At most I can imagine sending a private/personal letter to someone within the member's company.

I have heard of groups sending letters to supporting companies before, but not churches. I'm not sure if it would be appropriate. I feel that a personal letter would be a better choice for this situation

Chris: Do you know of any such groups?

Chris and Kristen: I see your point, though i feel slightly different. However, what type of personal letter do you suggest?

As far as groups go, I'm not sure if there are any such groups. The NAACP's mission statement is "…to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination." As far as I know, there is no group that does similar work on behalf of modified people. If there were, that's the type of group I would think would step up and write such a letter as you suggested.

A letter of appreciation would be good. Just a small thank you saying, "Hey, thanks for sticking up for me. I really appreciate a company who doesn't judge their own employees based on the modifications they have on their bodies."

Note to self:  If I win the lottery I'm starting the NAAMP.

Sometimes I wonder if I can say anything in less than a hundred words.

I'm not sure if they do this or not but I ran across this recently.
