SUBJECT: Richard Ivey, III – New Initiate Minister

Richard Ivey, III, has been accepted as an Initiate Minister for the Church of Body Modification. Richard first submitted a Minister Application on August 15, 2009, and interviewed with the Board of Directors on August 30th to discuss his new position within the CoBM. Richard brings wisdom, integrity, and compassion to his new position as Initiate Minister and looks forward to assist other members in whatever ways he can. He will remain an Initiate Minister for approximately six months at which time will become eligible for a full Minister position.

The CoBM now has a dedicated phone number which you can call or text. Email is still a great way to reach us, however, there are times when a computer just isn’t accessible and a phone is easier. If no one is available to take the call, messages will be returned as soon as possible.

SUBJECT: Jason Morningstar, New Initiate Minister

Jason Morningstar has been accepted as an Initiate Minister for the Church of Body Modification. Jason first submitted a Minister Application on January 13, 2009, and met with the Board of Directors several times since to discuss his new position within the CoBM. Jason will remain an Initiate Minister for approximately six months at which time he will become eligible for a full Minister position.

Community Site Launch

We have started a CoBM Community site. It is a social network similar to Facebook or even IAM. The difference, of course, is that our site will be for CoBM members only. If you are a CoBM member and would like access, simply email admin@uscobm.com and in the body of the email, list your name, desired username, and email address. We will reply to you with login information. For more information, or if you have questions, refer to this post in the forums.

Calling All Gophers

We are looking for a few dedicated individuals to volunteer some of their experience and expertise to the CoBM. Applicants should email the President and describe how exactly they would like to help. Suggestions include, but are not limited to, research, editing, original digital art design, and PHP coding. If applicable, please attach or link to any relevant examples of your previous work.

This is also a great way to become familiar with the inner workings of the CoBM’s administration for those considering a minister or board position in the future.

It’s official!

This has been a long time coming, I know, but the Church of Body Modification is now what you may call ‘officially recognized’. This means that the CoBM is incorporated and has tax-exempt status. To help celebrate we have a special Charter Member shirt in the works for current members.

Thank you to all those who have been supportive and encouraging. This is great news and the best is still ahead.

More great changes

A couple weeks ago we gave the site a huge facelift. Everything should be bigger, brighter, and easier to find. While we were at it we edited the Statement of Faith and the Mission Statement. Nothing major, just updated the wording a little.

When we updated the site we temporarily took down the store. Good news, the store is back up. We made some minor changes and ordering items should be a bit easier and streamlined. Let us know what you think and email shop@uscobm.com if you need help or run into any problems. Today we also added a section that answers the question of how members can help; check it out.

What else is to come in the near future? Among other things, monthly articles and new items in the store. Check back often and we’ll keep you updated.
